The Venue

Typically we prefer outdoor venues, but the Estate on Second wedding venue is definitely the exception.The Estate on Second is located in Orange County, right in the heart of downtown Santa Ana. The building has been there since 1923 and brings the perfect mix of historic charm and modern industrial vibes. There is a beautiful ballroom surrounded by exposed brick and white pillars which is perfect for both your ceremony and reception, as well as a super cute patio and outdoor space. It was the perfect venue for this modern, yet timeless wedding. 

Getting Ready

Our day started by getting ready with the bride, groom, and their wedding party. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite attic, which happens to be our favorite room at the Estate on Second, and had so much fun dancing around, popping champagne in celebration, and soaking in the last few moments of this chapter. Her mom and sister helped her get into her dress and once her veil was on, the weight and excitement of the day started to feel really real.

Time for Whiskey

The groom and his groomsmen got ready in the suite downstairs and had a blast bonding over some whiskey for the afternoon. They all wore matching socks and the groom wore a custom 007 suit. The bride left the groom a very sweet note with a watch that he wore the rest of the day.

The Ceremony

Before the ceremony the groom stepped away from the noise to privately review his vows and then the groomsmen said a prayer over him right before walking down the aisle. The bride’s father walked her down the aisle and the groom’s brother gave communion before the two exchanged the sweetest personally written vows. The groom’s uncle married them and the looks on their faces when he officially pronounced them husband and wife was pure giddiness. 

An Intimate Moment

Immediately following the ceremony, these two snuck away to the attic room to have some time just the two of them (plus us) and soak in their first few minutes of being married! So often couples rush straight to family photos or other events right after the ceremony that they don’t really get any time to take it in. We love that they intentionally set some time aside to enjoy the newly wed excitement together. 

The Reception

The rest of the night was spent eating incredible food, socializing with loved ones, and dancing. And these two certainly know how to dance! They had a live band for the beginning of the night and dedicated a special dance to dance with all of their parents at the same time. Then their family members gave the most sentimental and fun speeches that had the whole crowd hollering. It was truly such a special day filled with so much love and intention. 

Estate on Second Wedding Vendors

The Estate on second lets you bring in your own vendor team, with the exception of catering. All food and beverage is through Jay’s Catering, but we can attest it will be phenomenal. We would highly recommend all of the vendors for this beautiful wedding day – so go check them out!
